Bachmann Split-Chassis Mogul 43XX with Zimo Sound

This Bachmann GWR 93XX Mogul 2-6-0 is an old live-split-chassis model, which needed to be totally dismantled and modified to take DCC sound.

A lump of the chassis has been neatly removed in the boiler to accomodate a Zimo MX648 decoder and SugarCube9 speaker. The slight reduction in weight does not affect this great model because it was so heavy to start with and the Zimo copes very well indeed, combined with the SugarCube speaker which is loud and crisp directly under the chimney. If you chopped a little more away you could probbaly even get a SACC16 and Tantalums in for some stay-alive!
