Kit: MS500N or MS490N; 2x 470uF Flat Tantalums for stay-alive, RE Baby Boomer 26X20X08 speaker in tender
Now that the MS Sound decoder range is available, this gives us a totally new (and simpler) option for adding DCC Sound to the
Bachmann N Class. The model has a 6pin DCC socket in the loco, but precious little space for anything more.
However, there is enough for either an MS500N or an MS490N direct 6pin plugin, and 2 of the Flat 470uF Tantalums for
stay-alive, which is certainly worthwhile. Up to 1000uF of stay-alive can be added to these decoders (16V) without any
additional components, and this kit just fits in perfectly. Everything re-wrapped in Kapton tape for protection.

Neatly in the socket. Purple wires are extended and fed through to the tender for a speaker.

In the tender, our Rail Exclusives Baby Boomer (26x20x08mm) fit snuggly into the roof, fixed in with BlackTack.

Certainly a neater solution without having to hard-wire the decoder, and the extra benefit of a bit of stay-alive.
