Heljan O gauge Class 53 Falcon with MS sound

Kit: MS950; LOK950PL adapter board; YLR603010 and TangBand EM2 speakers

Quite a rare model these days, here we have Heljan's massive Falcon Class 53 diesel to which we will fit the latest MS950 sound decoder.

The original factory screw-terminal board is removed and wires transferred to the LOK950PL adapter board, separating front and rear ligths as we go, so that we can have separate control of all directional lighting. A LAIS resistor board is included to protect the LEDs, though this may not have been necessary if the LEDs in the model already have resistors.

The MS950 decoder is plugged into the adapter board.

A platform is created at each end, straddling the bogies, and we use a YLR603010 3W speaker at one end, and a TangBand EM2 at the other. This combination sounds awesome - the EM2 gives lots of bass, and the YLR603010 compliments with the higher frequencies.
