Dapol N Gauge HST - Updated version with Next18 DCC Socket

Kit: MX659N18; SugarCube6

Dapol updated their N Gauge HST models in 2019 swapping from 6pin to Next18. Due to the orientation of the PCB in the model, you must unscrew the PCB and let it 'float' in order to allow enough space for the little MX659N18 sound decoder. A SugarCube6 speaker will fit on its' side to the rear of the chassis, similar to previous 6pin models.

Just a few photos below to show it. Note that stay-alive is not possbile in this model because there is no Ground solder pad provided on the PCB. The speaker solder pads are on one side of the PCB at the rear end - easy to get to.

Numerous bits of tape or Kapton to protect anything from shorting where it shouldn't!
